It is expected that all jazz students participate in all improvisation, and are at least, basic-active improvising musicians.
Both Groups Must Know:
- All 12 major scales by memory in swing and straight feels, with major 7 arpeggio at end
- All 12 Mixolydian and Dorian scales
- All 12 Blues scales
- The 3 diminished 4 part chords by memory
- Changes with turnaround to Bb blues / arpeggio and scales

Continued participation in this program is granted to those who understand this policy. 90% of life is showing up! (on time). 6:55 is an intelligent time to arrive. the hit is at 7:04! (I do understand the rare instances and challenges of families in the morning and parents, driving, etc. Please let Mr. Mattern know of any special circumstances as they come up.)
